Great Britain's women need one more victory to qualify for next year’s Olympic Games after a 2-0 win over South Africa at the World League semi-final.
Alex Danson and Kate Richardson-Walsh were on target as Great Britain extended their winning run to five games and booked their place in the last four
This latest triumph left the team in touching distance of a top-three finish at the tournament, which will guarantee a spot at the Rio Games.
Danny Kerry’s team have already earned a place at the World League Final in Argentina this December.
Reading striker Danson opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a clever spin and shot, while club team-mate Richardson-Walsh doubled the lead as her deflected penalty corner flew in off the underside at the end of the first quarter.
Great Britain will face either Germany or hosts Spain in Saturday’s semi-final.
"We are absolutely delighted. It was a really professional performance by the team," said Danson.
"I think the work we do back home puts us in a good position here; fitness is a key thing and we still have a lot left in the legs."
Ireland's hopes of securing automatic Olympic qualification for the first time were shattered by a 4-3 shoot-out defeat by China.
Chloe Watkins equalised for the Irish with 18 minutes remaining and they were denied a winner when Megan Frazer’s goal was disallowed after an umpire’s video referral.
Ayeisha McFerran was put in goal for the shoot-out and made two saves, but a miss from Nicola Evans proved decisive in the second round of sudden death.
