Great Britain slumped to a third successive defeat in the Women's Champions Trophy, going down 2-0 to the United States at the Olympic Park.
The hosts, who have just one point from four matches, now require a three-goal win against Australia in their next game to make Sunday's bronze medal clash.
American duo Kat Sharkey and Emily Wold struck in the third quarter to leave GBÂ with too much of a mountain to climb.
But despite there being only six weeks until the Olympic Games gets under way in Brazil, coach Danny Kerry insists he is not worried by his side's poor run of results.
Kerry said: "Genuinely it is not a concern. I know that may seem a bit alien to people out there, but the incredibly fine margins are not going our way.
"I am not concerned - the girls are bitterly disappointed - but I am genuinely not concerned. As long as we stick with what we need to do, and try and do the right things then we will come good."
